Dr. Abba A. Abubakar is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at KFUPM. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM in 2018, MS in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM in 2014 and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University Kano (Nigeria) in 2011. Since joining KFUPM in 2021, Dr. Abba Abubakar has conducted research in the area of composite structures, advanced coatings, computational modeling, and machine learning. He has been actively involved in research projects in this area. With a focus on the design and development of advanced materials, he has contributed to various areas including surface engineering and materials processing of advanced materials. He was a project manager of 2 research projects and participated in more than 10 research projects. Dr. Abubakar has taught courses such as machine design, risk management and material science at KFUPM and has authored numerous research papers and presented several papers at reputable international conferences.
