I am currently a research scholar at the Tribology Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. My doctoral thesis is titled "A Study on Behaviour of Hydrostatic/Hybrid Thrust Pad Bearing Configurations". I have submitted my thesis and am currently awaiting the reviewers' decision. In my research, I have derived a modified Reynolds equation to examine the non-linear behavior of lubricants in hydrostatic/hybrid circular and rectangular thrust pad bearings. This work focuses on various non-Newtonian lubricants, including magneto-rheological lubricants, electro-rheological (ER) lubricants, as well as shear-thinning and piezoviscous lubricants. I have also numerically simulated the static and dynamic performance of these bearings, incorporating features such as micro-dimples, spiral grooves, and 3-D surface irregularities. Throughout my Ph.D., I have published five papers in SCI journals, with my research appearing in prestigious publications such as Tribology International, the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, and Part J: Journal of Engineering Tribology. Additionally, I have participated in various conferences and workshops, where I gained exposure to the latest techniques and ideas in the field. I also have solid experience with software like MATLAB, COMSOL, Ansys, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
